A new breeze from ancient times:
Because of our interrest in the early Middleages, the
celtic culture and Scotland, we decided to found a reenactment group to show
living history from Sottland of the 7th century AD.
As a reenactment group, we are interested in history,
experimental archeology and we show ancient craftsmenship in museal parks and
historical markets.
Who were the picts?
The name „picts“ comes from
Latin (lat. "picti" = the painted). Also the term "caledonii"
is used for the people who lived in that area. Scientists argue about the
origin of this „tribe“.
Only very few fragments and
artefacts were found from this period, so our reenactment is based on the
depictions on the so called „pictish symbol
stones“. We try our very best to reconstruct the ancient times with replicas and
historical craftsmenship (like card weaving, naalbinding, leather works, gold
smithing,…), but it cannot be a 100% reconstruction of the historical truth.
We hope you enjoy to discover our
page!
